How long do Checked Out candles burn?

What are candle burning best practices for your Checked Out candle?

  • Never leave a lit candle unsupervised
  • Keep away from flammable objects.


  • Trim Your Wicks to 1/4" to prevent sooting or higher temperatures that can make your wax burn faster
  • Avoid Tunneling – Burn Your Candle for at least an hour (or until the wax melts to the edges)
  • Don't burn more than 4 hours at a time
  • Stop burning when there's less than 1/4" of wax left

How do I recycle my candle after I've used it?

Once your candle has burned down, recycling the can is simple and eco-friendly! Here’s how:

  1. Remove Any Remaining Wax: Allow the can to cool completely, then use a spoon or knife to gently scrape out any leftover wax.

    To make this easier, you can place the can in the freezer for a few hours—the wax will shrink and pop out more easily. Or, you can use a hair dryer to melt the remaining wax and use a paper towel to soak it up.
     
  2. Clean the Can: Wash the can with warm, soapy water to remove any wax residue. Make sure it’s completely clean before recycling.
     
  3. Recycle the Can: Our candles are housed in unlined steel cans, which are widely recyclable. Simply place the clean, empty can in your curbside recycling bin. If your local recycling program accepts steel and tin cans, you’re good to go!
     

Feeling creative? Consider upcycling the can into something new! It makes a great container for small plants, desk organizers, or even as a decorative item.

What's the status of my order?

You can always access your order page link from your email confirmation.

As a small brand, we process orders in about 2-5 business days.

Once your order has been shipped, you'll receive a tracking number that's accessible from. your order page.

Can I cancel or make changes to my order?

We may not be able to change or update your order once it's been placed. Please reach out to us at hello@imcheckedout.co.

If your order has been shipped, we will not be able to change or cancel it.

How do I apply my discount?

Can I make my order a gift?

We'd love to help make your gift order special. Reach out before you place your order!

We don't have the built-in functionality to create gift orders, but we're happy work with you.

📦 Shipping

How much is shipping?

You can calculate shipping at check out! Depending on your order size and shipping address, it may change.

We currently only ship to the United States, but we hope to change that in the future!

How long will it take for my order to arrive?

We normally ship our orders within 2-5 business days from our headquarters.

Once your package is on its way, it can depending on your preferred shipping method. To see when you'll expect your package, open your order from your confirmation email.

My package is missing.

We know the pain! Here's what we'd suggest for your next steps –


1.  Is your package showing as delivered?
Give it 2-3 days. We don't know why it happens, but sometimes packages get marked delivered early. 


2.  Check in with your neighbors.

Introverts brace yourselves – check in with people who would've had access to your package. Call the neighbors, ask your mom, email your building attendants. 

3.  Contact the carrier to begin a claim.

If you've purchased with an insured shipping option, you can begin the process of a claim.

What is Checked Out's return policy?

Have a problem with your order? We want to help. Email us at hello@imcheckedout.co within 14 days of receiving your order.

To speed up communication, include your order information, receipt / proof of purchase, and a photo, and we’ll follow up quickly as possible.

Do you refund orders?

As a small business, we do not provide refunds. We're only able to provide store credit in exchange for problems with your order.

While we understand this isn't ideal for all customers, we appreciate you for supporting our store!
